BRMS Bison Marching Band & Colorguard registration is now open!!
Here is what you need to know:
☑️ Marching Band is open to all 6th-8th band students
☑️ Rehearsals are Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:40-8:40am beginning Monday, Aug. 26 with our last rehearsal being Wednesday, Oct. 2.
☑️ Our performance is on the morning of Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Festival of Bands Parade in Sioux Falls, SD.
☑️ The only fee is a black long-sleeve marching band t-shirt that will be sent in a webstore link at a later date. If funds are a concern, please reach out to a band director and we will secure funds so that your child may participate.

Tonight we held our Orchestra concert. Great music was played by the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade orchestra students!! We are so proud of the hard work everyone worked to put on an outstanding show.
Tonight we held our chorus concert. The students sounded beautiful! Thank you to all the students and staff who have worked hard to make this a success.

Today, the Ben Reifel staff and students participated in the second annual Bison Community Outreach Day so we could do exactly that. Throughout the day, students engaged in activities that focused on giving back to our Bison community and impacting others.
We want to thank all of the staff and students for displaying “The Bison Way” and engaging our community positively. We can’t wait to do it again!
Bison students participated in the Howard Wood Relays today and made us incredibly proud! Way to go Bison! ❤️

Congratulations to Ben Hill, Danica Eagleman and Madeline Ueke on winning the yearbook art contest! These students will have their designs featured on a full page throughout the yearbook, and won a Target gift card. Thank you for sharing your talents with our Bison community. We can't wait to see the final book in May.
The Ben Reifel Percussion Ensemble made their performance debut at the MPA Brandon Valley Event. The students represented BRMS and the band program well in an exceptional first performance! You can still catch them for one more performance at our BRMS Fine Arts Night on Thursday, March. 30.
We are so proud of the students who represented BRMS this past Friday and Saturday at Middle School All State Band in Huron, SD. These students had the opportunity to play among the best musicians in the state and we could not be more proud!
Bison Archery Club had a tournament in Tri Valley today. Great tournament!! Way to go Bison Archery!!
Today, 8th grade accelerated Social Studies students participated in the National History Day regionals at the Courthouse Museum. Ben Reifel was well represented, with 28 students presenting their projects. We had two students who qualified for the state level competition:
Jasmine Wyant - Catherine Parr A Protestant Queen
Sophie Elsen - The Radium Girls
We are so incredibly proud of ALL of our students who participated and are cheering on Jasmine and Sophie at the state level! Congrats!
This past weekend, Ben Reifel hosted fellow middle schools for a wrestling match. We are proud of how hard all the athletes and coaches worked to make it a success!
On Thursday, March 30th, we will host our first ever BRMS Fine Arts Night from 6:00-7:30pm. This event will feature many of our music ensembles along with an art showcase from many of our BRMS students. There will be music department spirit wear and snacks available for purchase. We look forward to seeing everyone!
On Monday, the music department held their Pops Concert, playing music from Beethoven to the James Bond theme. They sounded incredible! We are so proud of how hard students and staff worked to prepare for this. ❤️

Yesterday, the Promising Futures Fund took the eighth grade girls basketball team to South Dakota State University. Students received a tour of the athletic buildings, enjoyed a delicious lunch, listened to current students and President Dunn speak about college life, and preparing for it. Students also were lucky to watch a Division 1 girls basketball game before meeting the players after.
Thank you to both the Promising Futures Fund and South Dakota State University for giving our players this opportunity to see what their future could hold.
