Q: How were you able to turn your volunteer hours into a $5,0000 donation?
A: “The Casino has recently started a program called "Helping Hands" Hosted by Elite Casinos. This program had me record any volunteer hours that I did over the past year. The Casino then matched my hours by $5 for every hour that I recorded. When the volunteering timeframe was over, I had the option to donate to an organization of my choice. Since I had 1000 volunteer hours recorded, I earned $5000.00 to donate!”
Q: How did you select the organization to donate to?
A: “While this organization, “Sleep in Heavenly Peace” is a new organization, I heard they are starting to work closely with the SFSD, so I thought it would be a perfect choice to help out the students in our district and community.”
Q: What is the purpose of the “Sleep in Heavenly Peace” organization?
A: “The organization collects funds from donors in order to build bed frames as well as purchase mattresses and bedding for kids who do not have a bed. Picturing one of my students without a bed to go home to is a heartbreaking image, and I want to do everything I can to help those who need simple things like a bed.”
