Yesterday, the Promising Futures Fund took the eighth grade girls basketball team to South Dakota State University. Students received a tour of the athletic buildings, enjoyed a delicious lunch, listened to current students and President Dunn speak about college life, and preparing for it. Students also were lucky to watch a Division 1 girls basketball game before meeting the players after.
Thank you to both the Promising Futures Fund and South Dakota State University for giving our players this opportunity to see what their future could hold.

Yesterday, we were honored to host our students who received Student of the Month awards during the first semester. Families joined their students, who listened to Principal Hieronimus share what it means to be a member of the Bison family. Congratulations! We are so incredibly proud of our students for displaying the Bison Way.

Monday January 9th marked National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. We want to thank our very own Officer Larsen for everything he does at Ben Reifel. ❤️

SFSD schools start 2-hrs late Thursday, January 5, 2023.

Due to the amount of snow that fell with this winter storm and the time it will take for plows to get into residential neighborhoods, there will be No School, no practices and no activities tomorrow – Wednesday, January 4, 2023. District and school offices will be open.

In addition to there being NO SCHOOL today, an update now includes that SFSD Offices will also be closed on Tuesday, Jan 3, 2023.

Mark your calendars - Ben Reifel will be having an evening of tubing at Great Bear. Sign up information coming soon. Can't wait to see everyone on the hill!

We have our winners for the door wars! Each grade had a specific theme and judges have selected the winners. We want to thank everyone who participated and put in handwork decorating our building for the holiday season.

Final staff meeting of the year was filled with laughter as Mrs. Vandrongelen and Mr. Hieronimus had staff create a snowman out of marshmallows using only a few select items. Staff also played Christmas Scattergories. We are so thankful for our staff and the lengths they go to engaging students every day. ❤️

Wish our Bison community a wonderful break. We will see you back Tuesday, January 3rd.

Team 7-1 made 50 blankets this week for Project Warm-Up, which distributes blankets to children and families in need. We are so incredibly proud of the ways our students and staff continue to serve the Ben Reifel community.
