The BRMS 8th grade band performed at the district Large Group Contest event at MMS last Friday. The students shared an excellent performance and received great feedback from judges that they will use as they prepare for their Spring BRMS band concert on May 2nd! We can't wait to see everyone!

The School Board has voted to move the last day of student classes to Friday, May 26, 2023 - requiring students to make up two of the five days missed due to weather. Staff will report through Friday, June 2, 2023.

National History Day Announcement
Each year in 8th grade accelerated Social Studies, students participate in NHD, National History Day. For six months, students research, analyze and create a project based around an annual theme. This year's theme was Frontier's: People, Places and Ideas. In February, we hosted a building competition to determine who would move onto the Regional Contest and 28 students qualified. At the regional contest, two of those students qualified for the state contest in Brookings, SD: Sophie Elsen (exhibit- The Radium Girls) and Jasmine Wyant (performance- Catherine Parr: A Protestant Queen). Both students did a fabulous job of representing our school and we are excited to announce that Jasmine qualified for the National Contest with a first-place finish in her category. We are proud of you! Congrats!

Congratulations to Ben Hill, Danica Eagleman and Madeline Ueke on winning the yearbook art contest! These students will have their designs featured on a full page throughout the yearbook, and won a Target gift card. Thank you for sharing your talents with our Bison community. It was a big week for the BRMS Fine Arts department! Many of the extra-curricular fine arts ensembles had the opportunity to go to the 4 feeder elementary schools on Wednesday to share their love for music with future BRMS Bison students!
Then on Thursday over 300 pieces of art, the colorguard club and many of the music extra-curricular ensembles were featured in our first ever Fine Arts Night. The night was a smashing success and we cannot believe the turn out! We are so proud of our BRMS Fine Arts students! It was the perfect way to end Music In Our Schools Month!
